Michael Chopra posts cryptic Newcastle United tweet amid takeover talk

Former Newcastle United striker Michael Chopra posted a cryptic tweet amid ongoing speculation regarding a potential takeover of the club.

Chopra claimed last year that he had put a Saudi investor in touch with Mike Ashley’s lawyers.

And, the 36-year-old has suggested something is on the horizon – whether that be a prospective takeover or not – with a cryptic message.

“It’s getting closer #toon #toon’, Chopra posted on his official Twitter account this morning but has since deleted the tweet.
