Miguel Almiron joy & Javier Manquillo shock – Newcastle United fans react to their Crystal Palace win
Newcastle United have climbed to NINTH in the Premier League table for Christmas – and it’s come as a real surprise to the Magpies’ faithful.
More surprise has been expressed at the performances of Javier Manquillo and a goal for Miguel Almiron… finally!
Here’s how you’ve reacted on social media...
@NeilJonNUFC – “We need 5 wins from the remaining 20 games to reach the “safe” 40 points mark! I think it’s almost impossible not to win at least 5 more games.”
@IanSmithYT – “Well chuffed for Almiron though and a fantastic win today. We’ve taken a great haul of points from the run of games from October to Christmas and that was exactly what we needed to do.”
@BritishBeefy – “Fair play Steve Bruce what a job he’s doing at Newcastle a side many fancied myself included to struggle and they’re now 10 points clear of the bottom 3."
@youngin_uk – “Manquillo has been tremendous this season. I'm astounded.”
@Yusii_7 – “Seeing that Almiron goal and celebration brings a little tear to my eye! #MiggyLad #XmasMiracle.”
@StanleyGathaga – “I'm genuinely happy for Almiron, he has taken so much stick but he has kept going.”
@StephenArdley2 – “Hope it’s nice and warm in that back pocket of Manquillo for Zaha.”
@youmeandnufc – “What do Sunderland fans have to look forward to now Almiron has scored?”
@sparxx - “In everything that Miggy has been through since his arrival, the expectations, the frustrations, the media scrutiny, he has never quit. Not on us. Through it all, every last man, woman & child has stayed with him.”
