After his trip half way around the globe – and some questionable comments from his agent – Miguel Almiron is taken out of the Newcastle United firing line.

And that call has certainly got some fans talking on Twitter’s #NUFC forum. Here’s how the United faithful reacted to the news of Almiron, Callum Wilson and out-of-form Jeff Hendrick’s absence.

@marksothcott – “Be interesting to see if Almiron get used, good to see Hayden in. Also interesting to see how Joelinton plays.”

@AHindhaugh98 – “No Wilson today will see Newcastle lose that edge in the final third. They have to get plenty of support around Joelinton or could be a very long afternoon.”

@Sandancer1977 – “541 today then with Joelinton up front on his own. I’d like to think it will be 343 when we have the ball but I can’t really see how we’re going to keep the ball in midfield, or play out. No Schar to bring the ball out of defence, and no Shelvey in CM to get on the ball.

@game_ne1 – “Come on, what's Miggy done to Bruce? Someone must know…”

@shaunday4 – “Have very bad feeling about today after seeing the team hope I’m wrong though.”

@laurence_1999 – “Well I'd rather not see Wilson risked and I can actually understand Almiron not starting but do we have to go five at the back? At least Hendrick isn't starting.”

@Sofa Sundays – “Will #joelinton find the net today or at least have a shot at goal?”
