The 24-year-old has been in fine form for the Czech side this season, hitting 13 goals and seven assists in 25 outings so far, and featured in Thursday night’s 1-1 Europa League draw against Rangers.
It is understood that the Magpies had representatives at that game to watch the player in person, as did West Ham, Southampton, and Brighton.
Interest in the Czech market has been reignited by the Hammers’ recent success in bringing in the likes of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.
And Kuchta is the latest talent to have amassed a following of potential suitors.
The striker has never played outside of his home country, but has averaged a goal every 131 minutes this season.
To contextualise that figure, Callum Wilson has a goal every 193 minutes.
Elsewhere, reported Newcastle target Siriki Dembele may have moved one step closer to leaving Peterborough United.
According to the Peterborough Telegraph, talks over a new contract for the in-demand forward have been put on hold for the time being, and his fate could ultimately be decided by whether or not the Posh are able to secure promotion out of League One this season.
Darren Ferguson’s men are currently second in the table, but are winless in three amid a fierce battle at the top.
If United don’t go up, Dembele’s exit looks all but assured, with the 24-year-old’s contract set to expire next year.
