Newcastle United transfer news: Toon target available for less than £20m, Player set to sign deal

The last thing Newcastle United need right now is more bad news.

The Magpies are very much up against it in the Premier League, and have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent days following Steve Bruce’s much-publicised training ground bust-up with Scottish winger Matt Ritchie.

But as if that wasn’t enough, it looks as if the Toon Army might have to contend with a couple of sobering blows in the transfer market too.

First up, reported target Radsu Dragusin looks set to put any doubts over his future to bed by signing a new deal with Italian giants Juventus.

That’s according to Goal, who suggest that the 19-year-old is knocking on the door for first team opportunities with Andrea Pirlo’s side having made his debut late last year.

A versatile talent who is generally more suited to a central role, the Romanian youth international has a total action success rate in excess of 80%, a pass completion rate in excess of 90%, and is still yet to lose an aerial duel in senior competition for the Turin club.

Elsewhere, Newcastle will have to fork out big bucks if they are to bring Adam Armstrong back to the north east.

The Blackburn Rovers hitman has been in fine form for the Championship side this season, hitting 19 goals in 32 league outings.

And it is understood that Rovers will demand a sizeable fee to lure him away from Ewood Park, although they could end up settling for less than £20 million, as per Football League World.

Armstrong was born and raised in Denton, and came through the youth system at Newcastle before being sold to Rovers for just over £1.7 million.

Since then, he has gone on to hit 55 goals in 152 outings for the former Premier League champions, but this season has been by far his most prolific to date.

The hitman has averaged a goal every 147 minutes in the Championship this term. To contextualise that figure, Toon leading scorer Callum Wilson has one strike every 182 minutes in the Premier League this season.
