Newcastle United contract update with 11 set to leave this summer as it stands

When do the current contracts of Newcastle United players come to an end?

Newcastle United wrapped up an important piece of business when they tied down the services of defender Sven Botman on a new long-term contract earlier this month.

Although the former Lille centre-back has endured some injury issues throughout his time at St James Park, there is no doubt he is a key member of Eddie Howe’s squad and the Magpies boss left no doubt over how highly he rates the Dutchman after he put pen-to-paper on a new deal. Speaking ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with PSV, the Magpies boss told TNT Sports: “He’s been such a big presence in our backline when he’s been fit and of course we’ve missed him for a long period of time. For me, when he is fit, he’s one of the best defenders in the Premier League, he’s a towering presence, very good with the ball and a great lad as well - so it’s a vital signing for us.”

Newcastle are now believed to be focusing on a new deal for right-back Tino Livramento amid reports he has attracted interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City and there has been some speculation captain Bruno Guimaraes could be handed the opportunity to extend his time with the Magpies in the near future.

However, there are some more pressing issues for the St James Park hierarchy to consider as a number of long-standing members of the first-team squad are now in the final months of their current deals and a number of others are awaiting news on possible extensions as their contracts enter their final 18 months.

As it stands, 11 players will leave St James Park for nothing this summer and they include experienced defensive trio Kieran Trippier, Emil Krafth and Fabian Schar and Magpies stalwart Jamaal Lascelles, who is believed to have interest from clubs at home and abroad and could leave Newcastle before the end of the January transfer window. A decision will also have to be taken over the long-term future of on-loan goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who has failed to dislodge Nick Pope from his position as Howe’s first-choice stopper throughout the first six months of his time as a Magpie. But when do the contracts of current Newcastle United players come to an end?
