Newcastle United cut Premier League squad down – FOUR left out in the cold by Steve Bruce

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has opted to include DeAndre Yedlin in his 25-man Premier League squad – which has left four former first-teamers out in the cold.

Christian Atsu, Henri Saivet, Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons all find themselves outside of the squad and unlikely to get games between now and January with both the domestic transfer window and the international one shut.

Few windows around the world remain open for incomings, with Russia’s the most high profile yet to close.

Newcastle United had a similar situation last season when the likes of Saivet, Jamie Sterry and Jack Colback were all left out of the squad and without clubs.

Confirming the news, Bruce said: "Selecting the squad is always difficult because you know you have to leave people out. With all the players, they're professionals and they want to play week in, week out.

"With the players we've brought in, it makes it even tougher but it's a decision you have to make.

"Those who aren't involved will continue to train and keep themselves right and once we hit December and January, we hope we can get them fixed up with clubs."
