Newcastle United employee breaks club's silence on takeover and backs Steve Bruce
The Amanda Staveley-led takeover, backed by the enormous wealth of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, are close to sealing a £300million for the Magpies.
Ameobi, United’s loan manager, speaking on Sky Sports on Friday morning, was quizzed on the proposed takeover.

Hide AdAnd the 38-year-old was asked to give his advice to new owners, insisting they need to get settled before making any changes.
He said: “I’m a guy who doesn’t like to make rash decisions. Steve Bruce has obviously done a terrific job with what he has had to work with.
“For me, Steve is a manager who is very experienced. My advice would be to stay with what we have.
“When a new owner comes in, they want to know how the club runs and what they’ve got in the club and I think, for me, it’s important we give stability to what we have here.

Hide Ad“Then moving forward, you can then make the decisions you see fit once you’ve embedded yourself in the club and once you know what it is about.”
Ameobi, who made over 300 appearances as player at Newcastle, joined the club's backroom staff last summer.
And having experienced first hand on what it is like to play at the St James's Park-club, Ameobi alluded to the excitement around Tyneside with huge investment promised.
The sky is the limit, insists Ameobi.
“There is a real excitement," admitted Ameobi. “They know Mike Ashley has wanted to sell the club for a number of years and it hasn’t quite materialised.

Hide Ad“The fans want to see investment poured into the club and if this does go ahead, there is a real excitement and buzz as to how and what could happen going forward.
“We have everything here - the fans, infrastructure and stadium - if we get the right owners who want to invest in the right way - the sky's the limit.”
