Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe issues statement on Cristiano Ronaldo transfer reports

Ronaldo has joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia following his release from Manchester United.

However, it was claimed there was a clause in his contract allowing him to join Newcastle on loan in the summer.

Howe has responded to the reports ahead of tonight’s game against Arsenal.

"We wish Cristiano all the best in his venture, but, from our point of view, there's no truth in that," said United’s head coach.
