After a nine-game unbeaten run was ended by Kai Havertz, Newcastle were then defeated late-on against ten man Everton.
The Magpies will want to bounce back from this double disappointment when they face Tottenham Hotspur and a win could put Newcastle 12 points above the relegation zone.

5. LB: Matt Targett
Targett is another reason for Newcastle’s impressive defensive displays recently. The Aston Villa loanee has been a very reliable option for Eddie Howe and will need to be on top of his game on Sunday as he could potentially line-up against Son Heung-Min. Photo: Stu Forster

6. CM: Joe Willock
Willock is reminding everyone why fans were desperate to see the club purchase him in the summer. His workrate and uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time in the opposition box makes him a very handy weapon. Photo: Dan Mullan

7. CM: Jonjo Shelvey
Shelvey has hopefully overcome injury problems that hampered him before the break and it will be a relief to see him back in the starting side. Newcastle just lack that little something without him in the middle of the park. Photo: Alex Burstow

8. CM: Joelinton
Similarly, Joelinton also had one or two injury worries before the break. These have hopefully been overcome and the Brazilian can get back to doing what he does best - bossing the midfield. Photo: ANTHONY DEVLIN
