Newcastle United 'lucky' with £114m triple change as impressive Matthias Jaissle record continues
Newcastle United 2-2 AFC Bournemouth: Jacob Ramsey came off the bench to score a late equaliser at St James’ Park on Saturday.
Substitute Jacob Ramsey helped rescue a point for Newcastle United as Matthias Jaissle’s record of making impactful substitutions continued.
In all four of Jaissle’s competitive matches as Newcastle head coach, a substitute has either scored or assisted a goal after being introduced. The Magpies trailed Bournemouth 2-0 at St James’ Park on Saturday before Harvey Barnes pulled a goal back before half-time.
Jaissle then brought off Joe Willock and Lewis Miley to be replaced by new signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Ramsey, who went on to net a late equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw.

Sean Steur also came off the bench to replace Nico Gonzalez and help Newcastle gain control of the match shortly before the equaliser.
The positive and proactive changes have not gone unnoticed after Willock came off the bench to score against Liverpool, Barnes scored a brace off the bench against West Bromwich Albion in the Carabao Cup and Nick Woltemade grabbed an assist for Yoane Wissa at Tottenham Hotspur moments after being introduced.
When asked about the impactful changes from the bench, Jaissle said: “Yeah, hopefully we continue like that, with the lucky hand.
“To make these substitutions, all of them showed great input, not only JJ, because he scored, but also the other lads.
“Good energy, real braveness, what was needed to make that turnaround. Really, really pleased to see that, and I mentioned it. It's not only the starters, it's also the players on the bench.
