His rising reputation in South America has caught the attention of some household names – including Barcelona and CSKA Moscow.

The Russian club are believed to have already witnessed a €7million bid turned down by Fluminese and Paulo himself as he hopes to “play in a more attractive league”.

Premier League football, of course, would fit the bill, however with a club like Barcelona interested, it could prove difficult for Steve Bruce and co.

The report claims the Catalan side have held initial talks over the 19-year-old. He is valued at £9.9m on TransferMarkt.
