The 28-year-old striker was relegated from the Premier League last term with Bournemouth, which has alerted several clubs to the possibility of bagging the Norwegian attacker.

According to The Sun, French champions PSG are weighing up a move with Italian clubs Roma and Lazio also tracking the ex-Blackburn Rovers star but the Cherries will refuse to sell for less than £25m despite relegation.

As many as 10 Premier League clubs are thought to be monitoring his availability including Newcastle United, Everton and Brighton.

The Daily Mail suggests Steve Bruce will make King’s Bournemouth teammate Callum Wilson his top priority signing this summer.

The £18m-rated striker is likely in demand too, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham linked with a move.

Indeed, former Newcastle United man Lee Clark has tipped the club to do a deal

“I think he would be an excellent signing but obviously he’s not going to come cheap,” Clark explained.

“Bournemouth are a financially strong football club and certainly won’t be letting one of their prized assets leave for cheap money.

Though Mike Ashley has, according to some reports, halved Newcastle United’s summer transfer budget from £60m to around £30m.

The Daily Mail also suggests that Magpies stopper Freddie Woodman is discussing a contract extension at St James’s Park and is likely to return to Swansea City on another loan deal.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at the Liberty Stadium and helped the Swans reach the Championship play-offs.
