But boss Paul Warne has revealed his injury is not as bad as first feared.

Speaking to Rotherham United’s club website, Warne said: “He might be out for only a week to ten days, which is great.

“It could have been eight to ten weeks. That would have been a disaster. So far, it is as good news as it could be.

“The first one [scan] showed no ligament damage.

“However, on one side, because of the swelling, the medical people just couldn’t see. We are waiting for the swelling to go down so that can be reassessed.”

Meanwhile, defender Ciaran Clark has been ruled out for the season.

Here’s the inside story of how an unlikely fixer from the USA, Carla DiBello, defied cultural and business boundaries to propose the £340million buyout of Newcastle United, to an elite group of men with the power to invest hundreds of billions at their disposal.

The Wall Street Journal’s Justin Scheck, who broke the story of the Saudi’s initial interest back on January 25, explains how DiBello confidently broke down barriers to bring United into Saudi consciousness.

Elsewhere, pictures released on the club’s website and social media channels show midfielder Jonjo Shelvey back in training ahead of a potential Burnely return this weekend.
