Newcastle United confirm Sean Neave loan move as club releases statement
Newcastle United have loaned out Sean Neave to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 2026-27 season.
Sean Neave has completed his season-long loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It was always expected that the Winlaton native would spend the upcoming campaign elsewhere. Matthias Jaissle had a close-up look at Neave in pre-season but he faced stiff competition for first-team football.
The 19-year-old made his Newcastle debut earlier this year and has been desperate for senior football. Wolves have now won the race for his signature, where he could play up front alongside Adam Armstrong, another Toon academy graduate.

Wolves welcome signing
Speaking to the club website, Wolves technical director Matt Jackson welcomed Neave’s arrival as they aim to secure an instant Premier League return. He said: It was important to get a player of a certain type, who's looking to learn and bring a real hunger and personality to our group. He is very hard working and a really technical player. His enthusiasm and drive to be a professional is what all young players should have.
“We presented to them, myself and Cesar together, and it’s great to have that support. It shows the buy-in with the recruitment process. I'd like to think that resonated with Sean, his representatives and the senior representatives from Newcastle.
“It works when you can offer a project that really stimulates the player but also satisfies the needs of the football club. We look forward to being a part of Sean's journey and we’re delighted to welcome him here.”
