Team news - Matthias Jaissle makes big Tino Livramento call as Newcastle United face Bournemouth
Matthias Jaissle had previously suggested that the Bournemouth game could come too soon for Tino Livramento.
Matthias Jaissle has named Tino Livramento in his matchday squad to face Bournemouth this afternoon.
The 23-year-old last appeared in England’s friendly win over New Zealand in June. On the eve of the World Cup, his dreams were shattered when he suffered a calf injury.
Several niggles have hampered Livramento’s progress since joining Newcastle in 2023. While talented - hence his Three Lions recognition - the versatile full-back started just 14 Premier League games all season.

In his absence, a certain Amar Dedic has burst onto the scene to make the right-back spot his own. Jaissle has backed new man Dedic - arguably Newcastle’s best player so far this season - as the team remains unchanged.
Livramento must settle for a place on the bench but could feature at some stage. Elsewhere, Lukas Hornicek, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman and Malick Thiaw partner Dedic in defence.
Lewis Miley and Nico Gonzalez - another who starred last week - form the base of the engine room. A supporting act of Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock and Anthony Elanga will supply the bullets to Yoane Wissa up front.
Toon fans will also be keen to catch a first-hand look at £51million new arrival Matias Fernandez-Pardo. Having not played since June, Jaissle has wisely named the 21-year-old on the bench.

Matthias Jaissle bluff?
Speaking pre-match, Jaissle suggested the Cherries game would come too soon for Livramento. He told reporters: "It is too early to say on Tino. He was partially involved so we need to be smart with his progress now.
“We need to wait until he is 100% ready. He has huge potential and we can't wait to have him back. Joelinton is out for a couple of weeks. I am really confident that he will be back as soon as possible."
Matthias Jaissle on Amar Dedic
Jaissle also praised Dedic’s contribution since joining the club. He added: "Amar has been exceptional so far. (I am) pleased with how fast he has adapted to the team, the playing style, the league. He knows how I want to play football. Amazing start, hopefully he can continue in the same way."
