'Contact made' - Newcastle United striker has big decision to make as international offer received
Newcastle United striker Will Osula could switch international allegiances from Denmark to Nigeria.
Nigeria have reached out to Newcastle United striker Will Osula over switching his international allegiances.
Osula was born in Copenhagen and has represented Denmark at under-19s and under-21s, however is yet to make his senior debut despite being called up to Brian Riemer's squad for World Cup qualifiers against North Macedonia and the Czech Republic in March.
That has left the 22-year-old’s international future open and, according to Danish publication Tipsbladet, he has been contacted through backroom staff at the Nigerian Football Association, who want to “steal him” away from Denmark.

Although he represented Denmark at youth level, Osula is proud of his Nigerian heritage. A clip that went viral last year showed Osula cooking Fufu for Newcastle teammate Joe Willock and now Liverpool striker Alexander Isak.
Nigeria’s interest comes just as Osula has hit some goalscoring form on Tyneside. The striker has scored in back-to-back Premier League games against AFC Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, and memorably scored a 90th-minute winner at home to Manchester United last month.
Osula moved to Manchester as a 12-year-old before joining Sheffield United’s academy, where he went on to make 31 first-team appearances before joining Newcastle in a deal worth £15million in the summer of 2024.
As well as his international future, uncertainty surrounds his club career. Osula came close to joining Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on deadline day last summer before negotiations broke down.
Osula has started consecutive games for Newcastle but before that had made only one Premier League start - and that was the goalless draw at Leeds United in August.
