Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest given major update on future of Serie A transfer target
The latest transfer talk from Newcastle United as the agent of a Magpies-linked midfielder speaks out over his client’s future.
The agent at the heart of Sandro Tonali’s move from Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur has delivered a major update on the future of a Serie A star linked with the Magpies and Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.
Tonali’s move to North London was officially completed earlier this month as United banked an initial £92.5m from the deal, with another £7.5m set to follow if achievable add-ons are met throughout the Italy international’s time with the club. Newcastle have moved to add to their midfield options during the summer transfer window with Ajax youngster Sean Steur and Monaco’s Aladji Bamba both completing moves to Tyneside over the last fortnight.

However, the situation surrounding the future of club captain Bruno Guimaraes has continued to cause some uncertainty with the Brazil international attracting major interest from Premier League champions Arsenal. Guimaraes hasn’t travelled to Spain with the Newcastle squad for pre-season training as things stand.
Should a move come to fruition before the end of the summer transfer window, Newcastle would likely have to make a move to boost their midfield options - and one player that has been named as a possible target in recent months is Inter and Italy star Davide Frattesi. The 26-year-old has two years remaining on his contract with Inter and has been linked with a move away from the San Siro for a number of months with Newcastle and Nottingham Forest said to be keen. However, agent Beppe Riso, who also represents former Magpies star Tonali, has claimed a possible move is ‘an evolving situation’ as he awaits talks with Inter.
He told CalcioMercato: “I still have to meet with Inter, as soon as I meet them we’ll know. It’s an evolving situation, there are situations, but first I have to talk to them about it. Is the Juventus option still open? I won’t discuss these things before speaking to Inter. It doesn’t seem right to me. Then we’ll reason about the future. He scores heavy goals and has a big heart. I’ll talk to Inter and then we’ll reason.”
