Newcastle United player opens up about training ground 'fall outs'

Shelvey joined the club from Swansea City in January 2016, and the midfielder recently signed a new deal keeping him at St James’s Park until 2023.

The 28-year-old has admitted to “falling out” with his team-mates at the Liberty Stadium in an interview with Sky Sports.

"I think I'm a lot more laid back," said Shelvey. "People I played with at Swansea will tell you that I wasn't laid back when I was there. I just wanted to win so much on the training pitch that I'd end up falling out with people.

"I'd say nasty comments and stuff like that, whereas now I'm just enjoying football. I'm going out there and I'm playing with a smile on my face. I think that's the one thing that has changed massively with me. I’ve sort of taken a step back and started to enjoy it all a lot more."
