After a goalless first half, Newcastle had an own goal controversially disallowed by VAR.
The Magpies had a few chances to win the game late on but Palace were able to hold on for a point.
Here are how the Newcastle United players rated in the match...
9. Ryan Fraser - 6
Fleeted in and out of the game but worked hard and tracked back well when needed. Booked. | Getty Images
10. Miguel Almiron - 7
Looked well up for it and put in his typical hard-working display down the right before fading slightly ahead of his second half withdrawal. Was a threat for Newcastle but just lacked that killer pass or shot. Dragged a good opportunity wide. | Getty Images
11. Alexander Isak - 6
Had a brilliant chance to give Newcastle the lead after going clean through on goal but opted for a chip which was blocked by Vicente Guaita in the Palace goal. Tame effort late in the first half. Still showed a couple of flashes. | Getty Images
12. Elliot Anderson - 8
On for Fraser 70: Livened things up from the bench. Will be pushing for a start now. Photo: Stu Forster
