Newcastle and Leeds went in goalless at the break following a first half of few clear-cut chances. The Magpies pushed for a winner in the second half as they saw a number of opportunities go begging from Chris Wood, Fabian Schar and Sean Longstaff.
The draw ends a run of six straight Premier League wins for Newcastle but extends their unbeaten streak to 12 matches as they remained third in the table.

Squandered a good opportunity following a corner. Defended well when needed.

6. Bruno Guimaraes - 7
Provided Newcastle’s creative bright spark and tried to make things happen.

7. Sean Longstaff - 5
Struggled to get involved in the first half but improved in the second as Newcastle pushed forward. Should have scored just after the hour mark but failed to hit the target. Skied a shot shortly after following some good work by Almiron. Squandered another opportunity in the closing stages - an afternoon to forget in an attacking sense.

8. Joe Willock - 6
Saw plenty of the ball moving forward as his pace caused Leeds problems but wasn’t able to make it count.
