The Newcastle United defender suffered an injury early in the game at St James’s Park, which was goalless at the time.

Willems, signed on a season-long loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, beat the turf in frustration after going down.

Willems was replaced by fit-again Matt Ritchie, who had two operations on the ankle he injured in August.
