Newcastle United rocked by injury blow
Matt Ritchie has had a second ankle operation – and will not play again this year.
The Newcastle United winger has been out since late August after suffering an ankle injury against Leicester City.
Ritchie was injured by a challenge from Hamza Choudhury.
Head coach Steve Bruce – who claimed on Monday that Ritchie needed more “rest” – hit out at the tackle after the game.
It has been revealed that Ritchie has had further surgery this week. Ritchie could return in January.
