Newcastle United send scout to AC Milan to check on Turkish winger amid links to Rossoneri striker
Newcastle United reportedly had a scout in the stands as AC Milan played out a 0-0 draw with Sampdoria this afternoon.
And while reports over the weekend linked the Magpies with Milan's Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek, Italian outlet Tuttosport are claiming it is in fact winger Hakan Calhanoglu who United are keeping tabs on.
According to the report United had a scout at the San Siro with 25-year-old attacking midfielder Calhanoglu the reason for the trip.
The Turkey international, who often plays off the left, played the full 90 for Milan, while Piatek was replaced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, making his second AC debut.
Calhanoglu, who has 47 caps for his country, has played 17 games for Milan this season, netting twice with one assist.
The former Karlsruhe, Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen wideman has a deal at Milan until the summer of 2021.
