And while reports over the weekend linked the Magpies with Milan's Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek, Italian outlet Tuttosport are claiming it is in fact winger Hakan Calhanoglu who United are keeping tabs on.

According to the report United had a scout at the San Siro with 25-year-old attacking midfielder Calhanoglu the reason for the trip.

The Turkey international, who often plays off the left, played the full 90 for Milan, while Piatek was replaced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, making his second AC debut.
