Players were pictured arriving at the club’s Tyneside training base to undergo the test at a makeshift testing station, ahead of United's proposed resumption of training.

The Premier League is due to meet on Monday to discuss further the proposals for clubs to return to training, although there will be strict guidelines.

Top flight clubs are hopeful of a return to action in June.
