Newcastle United need to wait until Monday before they are in action once more, making the long trip south to face Brighton. While the Magpies are ensconced in mid table, well away from relegation trouble. The same can’t be said for their opponents.
Much of the interest in the Magpies, however, regards the takeover. Fans are eager for progress as they seek Mike Ashley’s exit from the club so to usher in a new era and hopefully some big transfers.

1. United near £100m Sancho deal
Manchester United are closing in on an explosive £100m deal for Borussia Dortmund and England star Jadon Sancho. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to want to partner him with Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood for an all-England attack. (The Sun)

2. Tau's Brighton future unclear
Brighton’s South African international Percy Tau’s future is in the air. The forward, signed in 2018, has yet to play for the club due to work permit issues. He has been on loan at Club Brugge but has all but ruled out a return.

3. Dyche on his Burnley future

4. Newcastle eye Marseille defender
Newcastle United are one of a number of clubs chasing Marseille defender Bouna Sarr. The right-back is also wanted by the likes of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid and is set to be available for around £13.6m. (Shields)
