The Burkina Faso winger has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 in recent years, having scored 33 goals in 126 games for Lyon.

And, according to Sky Sports, United could make a move for the player this summer, following the completion of Lyon’s current season, with the French side beating Juventus to make it through to the Champions League quarter finals.

The 24-year-old came through the ranks at Chelsea before being sent on loan to Ajax, and then permanently to Lyon in 2017.

Leicester City, Everton and Crystal Palace are also said to be interested.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are set to miss out on USA international Antonee Robinson, with the player closing in on a move to Sheffield United.

Robinson saw a near £10 million move to AC Milan collapse in January, but is being sold by Wigan on the cheap this summer due to their administration woes.

Elsewhere, Oxford captain Rob Dickie is said to be another player who United are monitoring.

The Magpies are credited with an interest in the former England youth international defender by the Mirror.

The player is said to be rated at around £3 million by the League One outfit, who lost the League One play-off final to Wycombe Wanderers this season.

Leeds United, West Brom and Fulham are also thought to be keen on the former Reading centre-half, who is in the final year of his contract at the Kassam Stadium.
