And with Steve Bruce hinting this week as many as five new players could walk through the door this summer, without confirmation of a takeover, links to players across the continent and beyond continue.

According to Il Sussi Dario, the Magpies are ready to revisit their interest in Czech Republic frontman Patrik Schick.

The 24-year-old is set to be made available by AS Roma at the end of the season, with Schick sent out on loan to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

The report claims Roma have had a request from United with view to a summer deal.

United reportedly failed with a late move for Schick in the January window.

Elsewhere, United have also been linked with a move for another South American wonderkid.

Argentina under-17 and Independiente rising star Alan Velasco is, according to Foot Mercato, a player the Magpies could make a move for.

He reportedly has a £15.4 million release clause.
