AS report the 32-year-old, who has won a remarkable 23 major trophies in his career, has decided he will move to AS Roma.

Meanwhile, United midfielder Sean Longstaff has revealed his thoughts on Premier League ‘Project Restart’ and how safe the squad feel in unprecedented surroundings.

“Now we have a goal in mind, everyone is chomping at the bit to get back playing. The break has not only been frustrating for me, but for the team. I think we were just starting to play pretty well,” he said to NUFC TV.

“We got through the FA Cup then beat Southampton, confidence was high. But at the end of the day the issues in the world are bigger than football. It is only game, even though it means a lot to all of us.”

He continued: “This is probably the safest place we can be.

“We have an environment here that is safe and we know we can come back and do they thing we love again.

“We have been allowed to concentrate on football - and that's what everyone has been doing.”
