Here's a look at the latest transfer headlines from the top tier, including news from Newcastle United and their divisional rivals:

Sheffield United new favourites to sign Liverpool starlet

The Blades are desperate to sign a new striker to start banging in the goals, and the club have now been reinstated as the bookies' favourite to sign Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster, ahead of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Notably, the England youth sensation wasn't named in the Reds' squad to face Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup last night.

Magpies flop opens up on failed exit

Newcastle United striker Yoshinori Muto has claimed (via Sports Witness) that his exit from the club was blocked last January, after the Magpies rejected an offer from Eibar despite the player wishing to leave.

The Japanese forward finally departed the club, temporarily, earlier in the month, with Eibar getting their man on a season-long loan deal.

Leicester City and Aston Villa cash in on players

Leicester City have confirmed today that Malian winger Fousseni Diabate has left the club to join Turkish side Trabzonspor, in a deal thought to be worth around €2m.

Meanwhile, Villa have flogged flop striker Mbwana Samatta to Fenerbahce, on a loan deal with obligation-to-buy for a fee of £5.5m at the end of the current campaign.
