Newcastle United transfer news: Bruce makes personal contact over PL outcast, Toon backed to land 'god-like' talent
The Magpies never really got going in a fairly lacklustre display against the Gunners, losing to Mikel Arteta’s side for the third time this season.
Goals from Mohamed Elneny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were enough to consign Steve Bruce’s men to a 2-0 defeat, and the Toon Army’s woes were compounded further when Fabian Schar was dismissed in the closing stages of the contest.

Hide AdSky Sports pundit Roy Keane was quick to criticise Bruce’s men for their flat performance after the final whistle too.
He said:
“There was no intensity in their play – it was as if they were already on their holidays.
"Newcastle never turned up and that is going to be a problem for Bruce in the next few weeks to get them going again and say ‘listen, we still want to get a couple of victories’.
"What about climbing the table? What about chasing the teams in front of them? If you’re just worrying about the teams behind then you’ll stay in that area (of the table).
