Danny Rose saga takes another twist

After spending the second half of the season on loan at St James’s Park, it was widely expected that Newcastle boss Steve Bruce would launch a bid to try and secure full-back

Seemingly out of favour at Tottenham, it looked to be a deal that suited both parties – with Newcastle in the market for a left-sided defender this summer.

But Football Insider claim that there has been ‘no contact’ between the Magpies and Rose since his deal expired, with a permanent deal thought to be unlikely.

Instead, they claim that Bruce has his sights set on an unnamed target to replace Rose.

John Carver speaks out on his next move

Carver has been out of work since leaving West Brom in 2018, where he formed part of Alan Pardew’s coaching staff.

But now, the 55-year-old is keen to be the top man himself.

He told Sky Sports: "The project I'd like to be involved in now is one where I would go in as manager and have a chance to put my stamp down and build something around my philosophy and theories."
