Pereira has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League despite West Brom’s relegation.
The attacker has netted 11 goals and found six assists in 33 appearances.
Howey told This is Futbol: “I think Newcastle would do well signing him because I think he’s a decent player. You look at the teams that get relegated and they always seem to lose their best players.

The Brazilian has also been linked with a host of Premier League clubs including Aston Villa, Leeds and West Ham.
Newcastle United handed possible transfer boost
Newcastle United may have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Peterborough United attacker Siriki Dembele, with the player expected to leave the club this summer.
According to the Peterborough Telegraph, the 24-year-old could part company with Posh in the coming weeks despite Darren Ferguson’s men securing promotion to the Championship this season.

The versatile forward’s current deal expires in 2022, but Peterborough could be forced to cash in on him this summer to avoid losing him for free in 12 months’ time.
The Magpies have been linked with a longstanding interest in Dembele, as have a host of other high-profile clubs. Rangers, Celtic, Sheffield United, and West Brom have all been mentioned as potential suitors since the turn of the year.
