Newcastle United transfer rumours: Magpies 'eye' 12 goal former Sunderland loanee and 'target' FOUR free agents alongside Wigan Athletic starlet
Newcastle United face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Magpies are hovering just one place and two points above the relegation zone but do have a game in hand on 18th-placed Fulham.
Indeed, Steve Bruce’s last win as Newcastle head coach came back in February when his side defeated Southampton 3-2 at St James’ Park.
Here, though, we’re taking you through all of the latest transfer talk surrounding the Tynesiders and their top-flight rivals:
Newcastle United eye starlet from Sunderland’s League One rivals
Newcastle United are looking to pip Celtic to the signing of Kyle Joseph from Wigan Athletic.
That’s according to a report by the Daily Mail.
The youngster is out of contract at the end of the season and Steve Bruce’s side are hoping to win the race for his signature.
Joseph, 19m was the subject of a rejected bid by Barnsley in January, whilst it has also been suggested that League One rivals Blackpool were interested.
Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur were also credited with an interest during the January transfer window.
Magpies to utilise free agent market in the summer
Newcastle United are said to exploring free agent options for the upcoming summer transfer window.
West Brom's Kyle Bartley, John Lundstram of Sheffield United and Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend are all said to be of interest to the Magpies.
Former St James’ Park loanee Jetro Willems is still also said to be on the club's radar despite a lack of minutes at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Newcastle United eye former Sunderland loanee
Newcastle United are one of the clubs interested in 21-year-old Championship forward Antoine Semenyo.
The attacker has directly contributed to 12 goals this season and is being eyed by the Magpies according to TEAMtalk.
Rumors also claim that Semenyo is wanted Crystal Palace, Southampton, Brighton and West Ham.
The forward has embarked on loan spells at Newport and Sunderland respectively before establishing him as a firm fan favorite at Bristol Rovers.
Semenyo has regularly featured under Nigel Pearson and has scored five goals and bagged seven assists during a promising breakthrough season in the second tier.
