It’s transfer deadline day for Newcastle United - catch up with all the latest news here...

It’s transfer deadline day as Newcastle United look up to wrap up a busy summer on a high.

The Magpies are set to conclude the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille in a £51million deal that will see Nick Woltemade leave to join Juventus on loan as a result.

The summer has seen several significant departures from St James’ Park, with Anthony Gordon, Kieran Trippier, Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Eddie Howe all leaving, having played significant roles at the club in recent seasons. But the appointment of Matthias Jaissle as head coach, along with several fresh faces, has paved the way for a fresh start on Tyneside.

And it’s one that has got off to a positive start with Newcastle securing four points from their opening two Premier League matches against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur while also progressing to the third round of the Carabao Cup with a 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The arrival of Fernandez-Pardo will be Newcastle’s eighth signing of the summer. But will there be more to come both in and out? Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock and Nick Pope have all been linked with moves away but progress has been limited so far.
