Jarrod Bowen is a name which has continued to crop up since Steve Bruce took charge of Newcastle back in the summer, with rumours of a move for his former Hull City winger continuing to crop up throughout the last transfer window.

The Championship side were believed to have successfully quelled the Magpies' initial interest by naming a hefty £20 million asking price, which is arguably a high price to pay for a play untested in the Premier League.

With the January transfer window just around the corner, the Tigers' chairman Assem Allam spoke out on the speculation last week, and urged the 22-year-old not to leave the club to "be on the bench" at a top tier side.

Sky Bet currently have Tottenham Hotspur at 6/1 favourites to land Bowen next month, who has scored 12 goals in 19 appearances so far this season. Aston Villa follow closely behind at 7/1, trailed by Newcastle United at a more distant 9/1. Leeds United are the fourth club tipped to be among the runners and riders, but their odds are out at 16/1.

Given the relatively long odds given to the quartet of clubs, it suggests that the bookies are backing Hull to hang onto their star player for another transfer window, ahead of a potential summer bidding war between a number of sides keen on the tenacious forward.
