The Slovakian international admits to being ‘hyperactive’ and keeping fit with stringent training regimes is not the only thing keeping him busy during the lockdown.

“I was that bored I made my own fence!” Dubravka joked.

“Don't expect that it is massive! I just made it to stop my dogs. I just used my time to do different things every day. We just moved in to a new house so we find things to do. We have decorated and moved furniture and we are settled now.”

Dubravka, who signed a new five-year deal at St James’s Park recently, is putting down roots in the North East, even if he is not able to see a whole lot of it while walking his dog, Shae.

“I am hyperactive, but my dog is even more hyperactive,” he said.

“She is called Shae.... not because of Shay Given. It would be disrespectful to do that. I am a fan of Game of Thrones and that was one girl.

“I’m quite lucky I live in a place where not that many people lives so I can go a little bit around the house without seeing other people, which is important to stay away from them. I’m trying to be responsible and practice staying away and staying at home, especially, but obviously I have a dog and I need to walk it a little bit. I’m lucky I have my own space.”

“It’s a difficult time for all the people around the world, but you need to stay active, you need to study, I’m reading the book, trying to do what I can do. I’m luck that I have so many opportunities at the same time, but as I say, you need to stay responsible as well.

“I’m trying every day to think of something and not do all the stuff during one day, so everyday there is something. As I say, we’ve just moved in and there are a lot of things to do.”
