Newcastle United's Matty Longstaff reacts to ANOTHER goal against Manchester United

Matty Longstaff doubled his Premier League goals tally at Manchester United – but the strike meant very little to the Newcastle United youngster.

Having been the Magpies’ hero back in October on his first Premier League start for United against the Red Devils, Longstaff was again on target to put Steve Bruce’s men ahead, having been called into the team out of the cold.

But an error-strewn performance having silenced the Old Trafford crowd ensued – and for that reason Longstaff takes little joy from getting his name on the teamsheet.

When asked about his goal, Longstaff said: “It’s irrelevant when you get beat 4-1. We need to pick up points and that's all that matters.

"I think when you come here you can't make mistakes like we did. The mistakes killed us.

“The best thing about it is we have a game in two days with a chance to put it right."
