Newcastle United's relegation rivals Fulham and West Bromwich Albion beaten ahead of key weekend
It has been an horrendous 24-hours for Newcastle United off the pitch amid training ground bust-ups but on the pitch they were boosted as relegation rivals Fulham and West Bromwich Albion were both beaten.
Fulham were beaten 1-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League tonight, while Sam Allardyce’s Baggies were also beaten 1-0, with Everton picking up all three points.
Newcastle travel to West Brom on Sunday in a noon kick-off, with manager Steve Bruce under increasing pressure.
Newcastle United remain 17th, a place and three points above Fulham and Bruce's side now have a game in hand. Newcastle are nine points clear of West Brom.
The build-up has been dominated by the bust-up between Matt Ritchie and Bruce earlier this week at the club’s training ground on Tuesday. The club have attempted to draw a line under the incident ahead of a key weekend of top flight fixtures.
