NHS staff have thanked on-loan Newcastle United defender Danny Rose after he made a brilliant gesture to medical staff working on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Spurs defender bought hundreds of pizzas for staff at the North Middlesex University Hospital, one of London's busiest acute hospitals.
The hospital’s Twitter account revealed the gesture: “#ThankYou Danny Rose for the hundreds of @Dominos_UK pizzas arriving for #TeamNorthMid #NHS”
All football has been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
