As seemingly the norm with Newcastle since the takeover of the club in October 2021, a plethora of names have been linked with a move to St James’s Park in the upcoming transfer window. Maddison has starred for Leicester City this season with his form earning himself a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad. Newcastle were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the midfielder this summer but have been tipped to reignite their interest when the January window reopens, although recent reports have suggested a move for the midfielder is ‘highly unlikely’ in January given the financial resources it would need to tempt the Foxes into selling.
