Revealed: Steve Bruce now FAVOURITE to be next manager sacked in Premier League after Brighton loss

Steve Bruce is now the odds on favourite to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League.

Sunday, 21st March 2021, 9:59 am

Bruce’s 17th-placed side were convincingly beaten 3-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion last night – and the club remains just two points above the Premier League’s relegation zone.

The club has won just two out of its last 20 games in all competitions – and the position of United's head coach looks to be untenable.

Despite reports this morning suggesting Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is set to stick with Bruce, the former Aston Villa coach’s odds to be sacked have significantly shortened overnight.

Steve Bruce, head coach of Newcastle United, looks dejected during the Premier League match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United at American Express Community Stadium.

Bruce is now an 11/8 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, with Tottenham’s Jose Mourinho priced at 8/1 with SkyBet.

Former Newcastle and Sunderland manager and current West Brom boss Sam Allardyce is the third favourite to receive the sack next at 10/1.
