Callum Chambers (ACL), Kieran Tierney (shoulder) and new signing Cedric Soares (knee) have all been ruled out as Steve Bruce’s side look to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners, however, are on course to welcome back Sead Kolasinac, Reiss Nelson and Bukayo Saka.

The trio have been working on their fitness during Arsenal’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai through the week.

Meanwhile, another new signing in Pablo Mari from Flamengo is in line for his debut.

The player has not played competitively since December in the Club World Cup final defeat to Liverpool.

Perhaps unfortunate news for Newcastle is the news regarding Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil.

The pair were substituted during the 0-0 draw at Burnley last time out but it has since been revealed it was not injury-related.
