Revealed: What Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and West Brom must do to sign Dwight Gayle

Nottingham Forest are set to end their interest in Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle – after being told they would have to pay all of his wages during a loan spell.

The Mirror claim that Forest are set to move on to alternative targets having been put off by the Magpies’ demands – which would see the second tier side have to shell out all of his reported £65,000 per week salary.

Leeds United, West Brom and Fulham are also believed to have been told the same about Gayle’s availability, with a host of Championship sides keen on the out-of-favour striker.

An exit for Gayle is not out of the question in January, but several reports have suggested that most Championship clubs would struggle to match his top flight salary.

Further reports have suggested that Newcastle would insist any club loaning Gayle would be obligated to buy him for £20million should they be promoted.
