Revealed! Which Premier League teams really win the most penalties - and how Newcastle United measure up

Newcastle United and penalties don’t always go hand in hand.

In fact, up until last summer, the Magpies had one of the worst records in Europe over the past three seasons when it came to spot kicks awarded in their favour.

2020/21 has been a little kinder, however.

The Magpies have hit four goals from 12 yards this term – the eighth-highest tally in the division.

At the other end, the Toon Army have done pretty well too.

Steve Bruce’s men have conceded three penalties this term – a tally bettered by just two sides.

That tally is made even better by the fact that only two of those have hit the back of the net.

But how does Newcastle's record compare to their Premier League rivals over the past decade?

Paddy Power have run the numbers to which top flight teams have averaged the most penalties per game since 2010/11.
