'Ryan Fraser injured?': Newcastle United fans are all asking the same question ahead of Southampton clash
Steve Bruce has named an unchanged starting XI for the trip Southampton – but it is the absence of Ryan Fraser which has caught the attention of Newcastle United fans.
Bruce has kept faith with the team that beat Everton 2-1 last weekend with the only change being Matty Longstaff’s return to the matchday squad in place of Fraser.
Some fans would have liked to have seen Isaac Hayden in from the start but overall, there aren’t many complaints from Magpies supporters.
@jackb18_: Just a reminder that Isaac Hayden is our best midfielder and he’s on the bench 3 games in a row, what a shocker.
@LiamNUFC98: Hayden for Hendrick then I would agree with the line-up.
@IJM9694: Fraser injured?
@PeterFrame_: Fraser must be injured.
@ToonArmyBarmy74: Good. Go for it though. Don’t sit back and hope we get lucky.
@nufcrichys: Fraser injured and Hendrick over Hayden
@lukelongstaffxo: Fair play. Only thing I'd prefer was Hayden for Hendrick but still.
@chad_presley: Hayden for Hendrick and then I’m all for that team.
@TilehurstsOwn: How is Hayden not getting in the team?! Our best midfielder on the bench again.
@vinnyrowbo: Great to see Matty Longstaff on the bench.
@TomCu86: No real game-changers on the bench. Let’s hope the starting 11 get the job done.
@NUFC360: I’m ok with that. #nufc
