Ryan Fraser 'struggling' with hamstring problem at Newcastle United

Fraser, signed as a free agent in the summer, missed Friday night’s 2-0 defeat to Southampton after complaining of a hamstring problem on the eve of the game.

And head coach Steve Bruce revealed after the loss the winger Fraser was “touch and go” for the November 21 home game against Chelsea.

Scotland assistant coach Steve Reid has spoken about Fraser’s injury after the winger’s international team-mates linked up for the Euro 2020 play-off final against Serbia.

“Ryan and Grant Hanley, at the moment, are struggling,” said Reid. “It’s disappointing. Grant has missed a little bit of football, and unfortunately is not going to be with us, and Ryan as well. He performed really well in the past camp, so that’s a blow, but we have got strength in depth.”
