Sean Longstaff in talks over new Newcastle United contract

A new contract for the midfielder has been on the agenda at St James’s Park since March last year, when his first run in the senior team was brought to an end by a season-ending knee injury.
The Gazette reported in April that Longstaff would be represented by influential agent Pini Zahavi when talks resumed.

Hide AdMatty, Longstaff's younger brother, signed a new contract in August, and the hope now is that the 23-year-old can agree a long-term deal at the club which reflects his status as a first-team player.
Speaking in October, head coach Steve Bruce said: “There's two or three (contracts) we’ll look at in the next couple of months. Sean Longstaff's obviously up there with that as well."
Longstaff – who was a £35million target for Manchester United last year – signed his present deal in 2018 before he had made his first-team breakthrough.
