Six Newcastle United players have agreed short-term contract extensions at Newcastle United.

Steve Bruce today revealed that the club’s three loan players – Nabil Bentaleb, Valentino Lazaro and Danny Rose – will stay beyond the end of the month.

Matty Longstaff, Andy Carroll and Javier Manquillo are out of contract on June 30, and Bruce, United's head coach, also said that the trio had “verbally agreed” to stay on to complete the season.

“We’ve been having ongoing conversations for the last few weeks,” said Bruce. “We’re all in this unprecedented area. There’s been a lot of dialogue about what we’re going to do with the out-of-contract players. All our lads, including the loan players and out-of-contract players, have verbally agreed to stay on and play until the end of the season, which is obviously a good thing.”

Bruce was speaking ahead of Sunday’s behind-closed-doors Premier League game against Sheffield United.
