Steve Bruce confirms Newcastle United duo set for return at Leeds United

Speaking to the press ahead of the Magpies’ first trip to Elland Road for 17 years in the top flight, manager Steve Bruce confirmed the Scotland international is fit after suffering a small hamstring tear in training.

"Fraser is OK, he has been out with injury,” confirmed Bruce.

"But he has trained now for the last week and a bit.

"It has been interrupted due to the time away from the training ground (due to the COVID-19 shutdown).

"It is like a new signing for us. He will be involved.”

Fraser has been missing for United since the 2-1 home win over Everton on November 1. The 26-year-old came off the bench to provide an assist for Callum Wilson's winner in that game.

The ex-Bournemouth man has missed Newcastle’s last four Premier League games.

Federico Fernandez is also set to play, according to Bruce.
